'Tis so sweet...

I am a 2-year short-term missionary with Covenant World Mission, living in Oaxaca Mexico. I have a great team of supporters and am serving a wonderful God. Hopefully this blog help me share news and adventures with you folks a little more frequently. Enjoy!

Amazing Grace

This evening I went to see the movie Amazing Grace. Since I was so delayed in going to see it, there was only one theater in town that was still showing it. The theater was packed though, and I mean people-sitting-in-the-very-front-row packed. Throughout the whole movie, people sat in silence as we watched in anticipation the life of a Christian man who used what God had given him to make a huge difference in this world. It was powerful indeed to watch.

While this was a very well made movie of an incredible story, I was moved the most by a thought I had as I walked out of the theater:
How great is the army of God. How incredible to think on those He chooses to represent and fulfill His good purpose in this world. Not only the saints who have gone before us, but those of faith around the world today - the young and old, weak and strong, rich and poor. What an unlikely group of people He has chosen, and yet how mighty will be His triumph on that last day.

To God's glory.

He is risen!

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Risen Savior!

On this Easter morning, I thought I might share with you some of the fun eggs my parents and I dyed last night :-).

I call this one "Easter Egg" ;-)

Mom's classic plaid

Dad's alien face

Football!

Party egg

Spider Man! (Dad)

And, a beautiful Easter sunrise
(a little more colorful than Colorado's snowy sunrise this morning) ;-)

I hope you enjoyed those, we had fun exercising our creative muscles.
But, may you also rejoice this day - for not only has Jesus Christ paid for our sins with His death on the cross, but three days later He rose, conquering death, and He has promised to return again that we might join Him in life for eternity.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

Amen.
